Grades will be determined using a combination of Tests, Weekly Quizzes, Class Participation and Classwork, and Homework.
Tests will count 40% of a student’s grade. They will be given every 2-3 weeks, and will consist of problems much like the ones done in class and given in homework. I will give a detailed review the day before each test. Each student will know about a test at least one week before the test is given.
Weekly Quizzes will count 30% of a student’s grade. These quizzes will be no more than 5 questions in length and will consist of problems taken from homework. I will give one quiz each week, except on weeks that I give a test.
Class Participation and classwork will count for 15% of the student’s grade. Classwork will be taken up from time to time so that I may see your student’s progress in grasping concepts learned in class. Class participation will be graded on a weekly basis, out of 10 points. Students are expected to be attentive during class. Points will be taken off if a student is not attentive.
